Flow meters are now an important instrument used in industry, and they must be installed and used correctly. Otherwise, they may cause unnecessary trouble in future use. This article mainly focuses on the installation and use of metal tube rotor flow meters.

If the medium measured by the metal tube rotor flowmeter contains ferromagnetic substances, a magnetic filter should be installed. If the medium contains solid impurities, it should be considered to install a filter between the valve and the straight pipe section. When used for gas measurement, it should be ensured that the pipeline pressure is not less than 5 times the pressure loss of the flowmeter to ensure stable operation of the float. If the temperature of the tested medium is higher than 220 ℃ or the fluid temperature is too low and crystallization is likely to occur, insulation protection measures should be taken. A jacket type should be selected for cooling or insulation.

The metal tube rotor flowmeter is installed vertically, and the medium fluid flows through the flowmeter from bottom to top. If conditions permit, a bypass should be added to the metal tube float flowmeter installed on the process pipeline to avoid affecting production during troubleshooting or purging. Secondly, the inlet of the metal tube float flowmeter should have a straight pipe section of at least 5 times the diameter of the pipe, and the outlet should have a straight pipe section of 250mm to ensure the measurement accuracy of the instrument. The pipeline flange, fasteners, gaskets, and flowmeter flange must meet the same standards to ensure the normal installation and operation of the instrument.

The metal tube rotor flowmeter does not have too many accessories or fragile things. Generally speaking, problems are found before use, and after correct debugging and operation, there are generally not too many problems and maintenance is rarely needed. Malfunctions often occur during device debugging. At the beginning of startup, due to poor cleaning of the pipeline, the float is stuck by solid particles, and the indicator pointer stops at one position. When encountering such a situation, the valves on both sides of the flowmeter should be closed, then the upper flange should be removed, the float should be taken out for cleaning, and then reinstalled. Pay attention to tightening the flange nuts evenly and place washers on them.

Due to the fact that the instrument transmits signals through magnetic coupling, in order to ensure its performance, ferromagnetic substances are not allowed to exist at least 250px around the installation. Finally, for instruments with LCD displays or powered by lithium batteries, direct sunlight should be avoided as much as possible during installation to avoid reducing the service life of the LCD and lithium batteries.

The daily use of metal tube rotor flow meters requires maintenance and upkeep, as do other flow meters.
