Flow meters are all used on pipelines, and pipelines have different sizes. Flow meters also need to have different sizes, which is commonly known as the diameter. Many customers choose the wrong one in this area. For most customers, vortex flowmeters are selected based on the diameter of the on-site pipeline. In theory, this is possible, but in reality, there are many that do not correspond. So many times, when choosing a steam vortex flowmeter, there may be issues such as inaccurate and unstable measurements.
So how to ensure the diameter of the flowmeter is mainly confirmed through three steps.
From the perspective of measurement accuracy of steam vortex flowmeter, while meeting the measurement range, the vortex flowmeter should operate in the linear region, that is, within the Reynolds number range.
From the perspective of pressure loss, for liquids, it is also necessary to calculate the flow rate and the resulting pressure loss to ensure that no cavitation occurs.
Considering the sensitivity of the detection components of the steam vortex flowmeter, the diameter of the vortex flowmeter is selected according to the lower limit of the flow rate in the user manual.
This selection method may not be well understood by customers, and in such cases, they can directly consult the flowmeter manufacturer.
