By comparing and calculating these data, it can automatically eliminate the effects of window fouling, temperature changes, device aging, etc., achieving stable and accurate measurement.
The infrared light emitted by the light source passes through the suspended object being measured and illuminates the receiving element. After being absorbed, reflected, and scattered by the object being measured, only a small portion of the light passes through. The relationship between the transmittance of transmitted light and the suspended solids content in the measured wastewater can be described by Lambert Beer's law, lnS=C-K × MLSS, where MLSS represents the suspended solids content and K and C are constants. So by measuring the transmittance of transmitted light, the concentration of suspended solids can be calculated.
